Thermogenesis-The Body's Way to Burn Fat

Questions and Answers

Q: Why are so many people overweight?

A: Instead of just eating to survive, we have built a whole lifestyle around food. Snacks in front of the TV, picnics, lunch dates, dinner dates, breakfast meetings, pizza parties, fast food frenzies and holiday feasts. We are surrounded by food and many of us view it as a "reward" for our accomplishments.

In addition, we have demanded more and more highly processed convenience "foods" that have less nutritional value and fiber and more simple carbohydrates and fat, which ultimately convert to body fat. We are eating less of the fresh fruits and vegetables (which also have less nutritional value than in the past because of bulk growing and the "marketing" process) and more highly refined foods and drinks. Today, the beverage of choice is the soda-type drink.

The average American consumes the equivalent of 1/4 cup of pure lard every day and a gallon of fat a month!

Q: Where does body fat come from?

A: The body stores fat both to be burned as energy and to keep us warm. Most of us no longer have a need for fat storage to keep us warm from severe, prolonged cold weather, but we still need fat for energy. Whenever we go on a calorie-restricted diet, the body thinks it's starving and subsequently stores all the fat it can in order that we don't fun out of energy. Fat storage is actually a survival mechanism.

Unfortunately, because of our life style, our bodies store more fat than we can possibly burn. For most Americans, spare time is a luxury and when we do have some, all too often we are sedentary and we eat! Most Americans do not have physically demanding jobs nor do we exercise to use up the stored energy.

We were born with fat cells. Each fat cell is capable of expanding thousands of times its original size to accommodate fat storage. Once the fat cells of the body are filled to capacity, more fat cells are produced. Unfortunately, once cells are formed they remain...forever! Their fat reserves may be drawn upon, but always capable of being filled! And empty fat cells cry out to be resupplied!

Q: What about dieting?

A: The reason that calorie-restrictive diets don't work is because of the fact that as you lose body fat, your metabolism slows in order to conserve your remaining fat for use as energy. If you are more than 20 pounds overweight and go on a calorie-restrictive diet, you lose not only fat, but also lean body mass (muscle, bone and organs). If you have less than 20 pounds to lose, and simply cut calories, you lose lean body mass ONLY.

In addition, 95% of all those who cut calories to lose weight gain all the weight back within a year!

Q: Is there hope?

A: Yes...Thermogenesis!! In order for your body to maintain a temperature of 98.6 degrees, it is constantly burning fat. Whenever you increase your metabolic rate, you create more heat and burn more fat. In the body, "brown fat" specializes in the burning of "white fat" (blubber). Nonadrenalin is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands, which activates thermogenesis in the brown fat and muscle.

Q: What is Thermogenesis?

A: Thermogenesis is the body's way of burning fat to create heat. It works to KEEP the fat off.

An effective method to stimulate thermogenesis is through Herbalife, using natural herbs. These programs naturally increase the thermogenesis to burn body fat faster than normal because of the thermojetic ingredients in these herbs.

Burning fat causes what is called oxidation. This releases free radicals into the system that cause the early aging and/or damage of body cells. Because of this, it is important to take antioxidant herbs along with your program. Schizandra Plus, RoseGuard and Garden 7® are excellent for the job.

Q: What foods should I avoid?

A: It is important to cut back on fats and simple carbohydrates. If you continue to consume these, the herbs will work hard to eliminate the fats you are consuming, instead of eliminating body fat! Of course, this is a great way to maintain your weight once you have reached your goal.

Remember to eat while you are on the program. The program cuts cravings and curbs the appetite (great, huh!) as well as burn the fat. You may not even feel hungry so it could be easy to skip a meal. DON'T! If you skip meals, the body will continue to store fat because it thinks it is starving.

Q: What should Ido if I plateau?

A: Plateaus are possible, but not likely. It usually means you have slipped back to old habits. Just stay on the program, get back to basics and keep accountable! I am here to help you!

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water!

Q: What happens when I stop taking the product?

A: Will you gain all the weight back? No! Not if you continue to avoid unhealthy, fatty, high calorie foods. However, if you go back to old habits, what else can you expect? We're talking life style change!

Because this is superior nutrition and so good for you, you can continue to take the thermogenesis-producing products to stay slim and avoid backsliding altogether! Those empty fat cells cry out to be filled! Our maintenance program is the easiest, safest way to keep your new trim figure forever!
